  1. Great job! Your plan is very detailed, clear, and concise. My only suggestion is to add a final step to share your findings. And by the way...I love Remind101! I use it for my class and get the texts from my own kids' teachers. I send a Monday message with reminders for the week and then as needed. I hope that your teachers will love it too! Good luck!

  2. Very interesting topic. I have never heard of Remind101 before. I'm going to have to look that one up. Is this something the teachers already use? Was wondering if maybe you might want to add a step with meeting with the teachers to explain your research plan and how they will play a part in it. Your plan is very organized and thought out. Good luck with it.

  3. We used reminder 101 for musical rehearsals this past year and it worked great! You're plan is detailed and thoughtful. I agree with Cherie about finding a way to share what you've learned!

  4. You may want to include a summary of your finding at the end. Getting parental involvement is always a struggle, I like all the ways you are trying, it will be interesting to see if one is preferred method over the others, I look forward to following your research.

  6. Your plan is detailed and concise. I like your use of social media to communicate. Even if parents do not have accounts, almost every student has a cell phone and can set one up for them. This looks like a great start to your project.

  7. Your plan is very detailed which will help you tremendously during the year when you have another million things going on! I have never heard of Reminder101-defintely will have to look into it as it seems to have several benefits based off of what you have said. Are you just tracking Freshman? how do you plan on using facebook and twitter?

  8. Terra, your plan is structured and very detailed. I like the fact that your focused on increasing parental involvement. At the high school level, I know it can be challenging. I think your plan to use social media will also be beneficial in communicating with parents. Good luck and can't wait to read of your findings!

  9. Great plan! How much technology is currently being used at RHS? Do any of your teachers use Edmodo or Schoology? I've never used Remind101, but I set up an account - thought I might use it with my cluster groups.

    Good luck with your ARP!

  12. I really like this topic because I actually used it last your for my own personal improvement plan. I did a lot of different things to increase parent involvement and I saw great results I think your plan is well written and you should be able to see significant and positive results.

  13. Yes our inquiries are very similar. You are taking a communication approach, and I am taking a discipline approach to improve student performance.

One thing I must correct on my own plan as well, is the goal being more specific. You mentioned freshman throughout your plan. Include that group in the goal. (Like I need to add the campus of EJMSMS.)

I would also get feedback from the teachers throughout the year to see if they think these new strategies are working while you use the data concerning grades and discipline. You can see how the comments change as the year progresses.

What alternative plan is in place just in case parents aren't technologically savvy? Or if they don't have access to the computerized social networks you have stated? How will teachers encourage reluctant parents?

Communication and discipline both effect student performance; I can't wait to see your progress and results.
